How to fix a clock, a walking stick and a leaf blower

As the sun poured in, so too did the Mangawhai community with all manner of items needing repair. The skilled team of volunteers fixed a wide variety of items including clocks, a walking stick, a rocking horse, a leaf blower, trouser seams and buttons.

We had around 50 items brought in across the morning. The woodwork team at the Mangawhai Shed were busy with broken deck chairs, clocks and toys. The need for electrical appliances to be manufactured so they can be easily repaired was highlighted at the electrical tent, with the electricians being flat tack with an array of appliances that were unable to be accessed to be repaired. Though knowing it can’t be fixed provides valuable advice to the owners.

Again, we are extremely grateful for the incredible team at the Mangawhai Shed who always have things running as a well oiled machine.

A huge thank you to our sponsors Mangawhai ITM and Coastal Homes. We are looking forward to running another Repair Cafe in late October or early November – date will be confirmed shortly.
