Rethinking what we do with organic waste
Sending organic waste to landfill is bad for the environment, yet that same waste can be a valuable resource! Until now, there have been no options in Kaipara to support businesses and families to separate and compost their organic waste.
Starting with a small trial in Mangawhai, we are now collecting food scraps from over 50 households and businesses in Mangawhai, and diverting around 200kgs of organic waste from landfill per week!!!!
